1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of Nervespan MindMap ("the App") and associated services provided by Nervespan Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England & Wales (#17059178).

By using the App, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

2. The service

Nervespan MindMap is a mind-mapping application that runs on your device. The App stores your data locally. We provide:

  • Free tier: Full mind-mapping capabilities with limited hosted AI features (20 calls/day).
  • Pro tier: Additional features (cloud sync, premium themes, advanced export) available via subscription.
  • AI features: Optional AI-powered brainstorming and summarisation, processed in EU data centres.
  • Cloud Sync: Optional synchronisation of your documents across your devices, using infrastructure we operate. Off by default; requires an account.

3. Your data

Your mind maps belong to you. We do not claim any ownership or licence over content you create in the App, and we do not use your content to train any model. Your data is stored locally on your device and you can export it at any time in standard formats (PNG, Markdown, OPML, .synapse JSON).

If you enable Cloud Sync, copies of your documents are also stored on infrastructure we operate, solely to deliver the sync service to you. See our Privacy Policy for details of what is stored and how.

4. Cloud Sync and accounts

Cloud Sync is optional. The App is fully functional without it, and no account is required to use the App.

  • Account: Signing in creates an account identified by your email address. Sign-in is passwordless — we email you a single-use code valid for 15 minutes.
  • Your responsibility: Keep access to your email account secure, since it controls access to your synced documents.
  • Fair use: Sync is subject to reasonable limits (currently 10 MB per document). We may apply rate limits to protect the service.
  • Not a backup service: Cloud Sync keeps your devices in step; it is not a guaranteed backup. Keep your own copies of anything important — the App can export any document to a local file.
  • Deletion: You may delete your account and all synced data at any time by contacting us. Deleting a document in the App removes it from all your synced devices.
  • Suspension: We may suspend an account that abuses the service (for example, attempts to circumvent limits or disrupt availability).

5. AI features

When you use hosted AI features, you agree that:

  • The text content of your selected nodes will be sent to our EU-hosted AI processing service for the purpose of generating suggestions or summaries.
  • This processing is stateless — no content is retained after the response is returned.
  • AI-generated suggestions are provided as-is, without warranty. You are responsible for reviewing and accepting or rejecting any AI output before incorporating it into your work.

Acceptable use of AI features

You agree not to use the AI features to:

  • Generate illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer the underlying AI models
  • Circumvent rate limits through automated scripting
  • Process content that violates the rights of others

We reserve the right to suspend access to hosted AI features if these terms are violated.

6. Free AI features

The hosted AI features provided in the free tier are offered as a courtesy and may be modified, limited, or discontinued at any time without notice. This includes changes to daily usage limits, available AI models, or the availability of the service.

If you require guaranteed AI access, you can configure your own API key (BYOK) in the App settings, which connects directly to your chosen provider independently of our service.

7. Pro subscription

Pro features are available via subscription (monthly, annual, or lifetime purchase) through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or direct purchase.

  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions through your App Store or Play Store account settings.
  • Lifetime purchases are one-off and do not renew.
  • Refunds are handled by the respective app store according to their policies.

8. Availability

The App runs locally on your device and does not require an internet connection for core functionality. Features that require internet access (AI features, cloud sync) may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, outages, or other factors beyond our control.

We do not guarantee uptime for hosted services and accept no liability for losses arising from service unavailability.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its code, design, and branding are the property of Nervespan Ltd. You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or redistribute the App or its components.

Content you create in the App remains your property. We do not claim any rights over your mind maps, notes, or exported files.

10. Limitation of liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Nervespan Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

We are not liable for loss of data stored on your device. We recommend maintaining your own backups of important mind maps (the App's export features facilitate this).

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or this website. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
